Timnath spent a decade as the place you drove through to get somewhere else. Summer 2026 is the season that stops being true. Between a new burger stand off Harmony, the town's first true sit-down restaurant landing by year's end, and a brewery that has quietly become the town's living room, the gravity has shifted. Here is what a Timnath resident actually needs to know for the next few months.
The Corner Of I-25 And Harmony Is Now Its Own Story
The In-N-Out at 4911 Cima Vista Drive opened its doors on June 24. It sits near the Interstate 25 and East Harmony Road interchange, with indoor seating for 84, a covered patio that holds another 28, and hours running to 1:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. James Crane, a twelve-year company veteran, is managing the location, and the restaurant employs roughly 40 people starting at $19.50 per hour.
What that means locally is more interesting than the burger. Timnath's In-N-Out is the fourteenth Colorado location and the second in Northern Colorado after Loveland. Line management matters here. Every prior Front Range opening has drawn a multi-hour queue for weeks. If you live north of Kechter or west of Signal Tree, the smarter play through August is a late lunch on a weekday or a post-9 p.m. run. The 1:00 a.m. weeknight close is a real change for a town whose late-night options previously ended at a gas station roller grill.
The Feed & Grain Corner Is Doing More Work Than It Looks
Old Town's economic engine right now is a single building. Timnath Beerwerks operates out of the historic Timnath Feed & Grain building at 4138 Main Street, and it has been the anchor of the walkable stretch since 2018. The taproom runs noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and noon to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and the patio is dog-friendly on leash.
The reason to pay attention to Beerwerks specifically, and not just as "the local brewery," is the food-truck calendar. The brewery partners with a rotating slate of trucks Wednesday through Sunday, roughly 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and noon to 8 p.m. on weekends. Recent and upcoming rotations have included Bomb Tacos, Culture Alley Caribbean Cuisine, The Goodness, Shells on Wheels, Wild Brats, La Tapatia, and Antojitos del Sureste. Music Bingo runs midweek. What that adds up to for a resident is a functional answer to "what's for dinner Wednesday" that does not require crossing Ziegler.
The same 4138 Main address hosts the Official Timnath Farmers Market on Sundays starting at 10 a.m., and one-off events like Cousins Maine Lobster pop-ups. Treat that corner as a weekly appointment rather than a destination trip.
If you have been reflexively driving to Old Town Fort Collins for a Friday pint and dinner, run the actual clock on that decision this summer. A food truck at Beerwerks plus a walk along Main is a shorter evening with better parking.
Ruben's Is Coming, And "First Sit-Down" Is Doing A Lot Of Work
The bigger structural change lands at the end of 2026. Ruben's Grill + Cantina, the Loveland Mexican restaurant that opened off Crossroads Boulevard in spring 2023, has announced a Timnath location targeting a late-2026 open. Reporting on the announcement describes it as Timnath's first actual sit-down restaurant.
That phrasing is worth pausing on, because it clarifies what the town has and does not have. There are plenty of places to eat in and around Timnath, including established spots like Chelo's, GQue BBQ, Mein House, Wild Pastures Burger, and Windsor Mill Tavern that show up in area search results. What has been missing is the restaurant you go to for a two-hour dinner with a cocktail list, a host stand, and a reservation. If you have been booking that experience into Fort Collins by default, plan on that changing in Q4.
The Reservoir Rewards Residents Who Read The Fine Print
Timnath Reservoir has 580 to 600 acres of surface water and a 6-mile perimeter, and it is the closest big-water recreation most residents have. It is also one of the most misunderstood assets in town, because access is permitted, not open. The property is owned by the New Cache La Poudre Reservoir Company and leased to the Town of Timnath, and every visitor needs a permit that takes up to 48 hours to activate.

If August looks warm and still, check the town's reservoir page before you launch the paddleboard.
The reservoir is also a genuinely good birding site. Fort Collins Audubon has documented a multi-species heronry in some years and breeding Eared, Western, and Clark's grebes. That is the kind of detail that separates a resident from a visitor.
The Trail Mile That Is About To Reframe Your Weekend
The Poudre River Trail runs paved and well-maintained along the Cache la Poudre, and the last unfinished piece is the mile between Timnath and Windsor. When that segment is complete, the full route will stretch 45 miles from northwest Fort Collins all the way to Greeley. For a Timnath cyclist, that closure of the gap is the difference between "nice out-and-back" and "actual weekend ride you can plan a coffee stop into."
